The
Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is
a non-profit department of The
Salvation Army. The San Antonio
ARC was established on January 14, 1930, and has since
provided support to over 50,000 men in their struggle
to end their addictions. Services are provided at
no charge to individuals without an income. The current
capacity is 108 men.
The San Antonio
ARC program provides spiritual, social, and emotional
assistance for men who have lost the ability to cope
with their problems and provide for themselves. The
center provides residential housing with work, group
and individual therapy within clean, wholesome surroundings.
Physical and spiritual care prepare the beneficiaries
to re-enter society and return to gainful employment.
Many of those rehabilitated are reunited with their
families and resume a normal life.
The work therapy
program of the center includes the collection, and
repair of donated items. The reconditioned items are
sold in one of our 5 family Family store locations.
Such goods include clothing, furniture, small appliances,
house wares, toys, electronics, and associated household
items. The Salvation Army ARC also accepts used cars,
boats and trailers for its auto auction. Proceeds
from the sale of donated merchandise go directly to
supporting the San Antonio ARC.
The Salvation
Army's services are available without regard to race,
religion, or national origin.
